Landacorp releases MaxMC version 8.0 medical management software

Louisville, Ky. (May 10, 2005) - Landacorp, a SHPS company, today announced the release of version 8.0 of its maxMC medical management software for health plans and other payer organizations. The new features and enhancements of this industry-leading software focus on critical requirements that include DRG processing and automated calculation of relevant values; extended targeted medical management capabilities; and the ability to search for members via multiple identifiers.

"This latest release of maxMC reinforces SHPS' investment in the Landacorp software division," said Rishabh Mehrotra, SHPS' corporate vice president and chief technology officer. "SHPS remains committed to not only enhancing Landacorp software, but also to expanding its already broad and deep functionality. maxMC 8.0 represents our continued commitment to our current market and customers to provide them with the innovation and functionality required to manage increasingly complex populations."

maxMC 8.0's new DRG processing capabilities have been designed to support organizations as they deal with a multitude of contract and payment methodologies, the complexities of which have increased significantly over the past few years. These changes will support organizations in meeting the most complex adjudicated and payment challenges.

The complexity of treating patients not just from the utilization perspective but also from both the care and disease management perspective has also been enhanced. maxMC's new Targeted Member Management capabilities will offer more holistic views of the member, in addition to providing methodologies, such as alerts for communication of important information other than authorization or case specific information, to support the care management process across continuum of care.

Finally, maxMC will now offer incremental efficiencies in finding all member identification numbers-primary and alternative numbers-which will streamline the ID process and improve its accuracy. This enhancement recognizes that the laws protecting privacy and confidentiality have impacted the traditional methods of assigning plan identifiers, making critical the ability to pinpoint members through alternative identification, and often new complex ID schemes.

Landacorp's maxMC software places the member at the center of all activities as it supports complex processes, including case management and disease management. As a result, managed care organizations are able to administer their plans more efficiently and support the delivery of an enhanced quality, cost effective continuum of care for their members.
