Landacorp Releases First-Ever Proven, Large-Scale Care Management System

Chico, California (November 18, 2009) – Landacorp today announced the public release of CareRadius suite, the only care management application of its kind to successfully achieve a large-scale, live implementation.
In an exclusive agreement with TriWest Healthcare Alliance, a U.S. Department of Defense healthcare partner supporting 2.7 million members, Landacorp conducted a beta implementation in order to ensure the product would be thoroughly vetted and refined for the larger market.
CareRadius, a Web-based application, proved its ability to achieve rapid integration. At TriWest, more than 500 users were live on CareRadius within the first week.
“We saw that the industry was experiencing challenges in implementing new, unproven products, so Landacorp decided to conduct a formal beta before engaging the larger market,” said Jay Dunlap, General Manager of Landacorp, a SHPS Company. “We could not have found a better beta partner than TriWest. Through their collaboration and flexibility, we have jointly accomplished a very exciting first for the industry.”
CareRadius is designed to adapt quickly in an industry facing unique economic pressures and uncertainties. The intuitive user interface enables non-IT staff to execute changes to the system as needed.
“The CareRadius suite of applications is very much in alignment with both our business and technical goals and objectives,” stated Rick Green, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for TriWest. “We are very much looking forward to deriving the full value of this very strategic implementation.”
“TriWest serves a diverse Department of Defense population, and we are excited about the potential for this system to contribute to an improvement in health outcomes, increase in provider and beneficiary satisfaction, and hopefully to a reduction in administrative costs,” added Dr. Frank Maguire, Senior Vice President Health Care Services and Chief Medical Officer for TriWest.
CareRadius suite, a service-oriented architecture (SOA) solution, functions as the care management desktop. It brings together all data and activities related to a member’s health into a single, “member-centric” view. Features include:
- Unique design that consolidates data from multiple platforms onto a single desktop, minimizing searches while improving health outcomes
- Intuitive operation that enables non-IT staff to update system configurations and complex workflows on the fly, without impacting the underlying data integrity and system availability
- Meaningful data display that gives information specific to the user’s role, resulting in increased efficiency
- Scalable design that accommodates large user groups
“We appreciate Landacorp helping us achieve our strategic goals,” said Kathy Fliehler, Vice President Corporate Health Care Services for TriWest. “Landacorp has been a reliable, responsive and collaborative partner for us since 2003, and our successful go-live of the CareRadius application is yet another demonstration of their commitment to quality systems solutions.”
