This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift.

Overview
Landacorp, a SHPS company, develops software and web-based applications for medical management health plans and healthcare delivery organizations. To meet Landacorp’s expanding goals an additional technical writer will be hired to assist the documentation team in delivering end-user and technical documents for multiple products. The right candidate for this position will have a basic understanding of the software development process, the role documentation plays in that process, and the steps which must be taken to fulfill that role.

Job Skills/Requirements:
This position requires a demonstrated ability to:

  • Write, edit and format documentation for software and Web-based applications.
  • Recognize and write to target audiences.
  • Present complex information in a manner that is clear and understandable.
  • Deliver documentation in pdf and html formats.
  • Incorporate accurate and concise writing within the parameters of established document formats.
  • Learn technical concepts and tools quickly.
  • Research, collect and organize information in files, folders, and directories.
  • Work independently and also as a team member on product development for new and existing projects.
  • Efficiently manage projects and time.
  • Problem solve, respond, and adapt to change when necessary.
  • Meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field of study, such as English, journalism, or communication.
  • Some technical writing experience. (Experience in the medical, insurance, or other related industry a plus.)
  • Experience in positions requiring attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to switch from one assignment to another quickly without compromising performance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including English grammar and punctuation.
  • Must be able to successfully complete any required pre-employment testing.
  • Strong Adobe Acrobat and FrameMaker skills as well as experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Online help generation tools, including experience with HTML and XML, MadCap Flare experience preferred
  • Experience with incorporating graphic images in documentation. (MGI PhotoSuite SE, Adobe Photoshop, and SnagIt preferred.)
  • Experience in Use Case documentation beneficial.
  • Write end-user documentation from a functional design specification.
  • Write end-user documentation from developer notes.
  • Track items requiring release notes from point of entry to final deliverable.
  • Log time using internal time and task tracking program.
