Overview
As a System Administrator for the SHPS Chico, CA-based Landacorp Medical Management Software division you will be responsible for Unix and Windows server installation/maintenance/administration, network infrastructure planning/installation/support, and disaster-recovery planning. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of systems experience, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, be self-directing and self-motivated, and function well in both a team role and as an individual contributor. In addition to in-house duties and projects, you may be asked to provide implementation and support services for our enterprise level software products at client sites. In this supporting role you will leverage your expertise to guide our clients through the planning and implementation of Landacorp and Oracle technologies. Pay will be commensurate with experience and ability.
Job Skills/Requirements:
- Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of UNIX servers, including AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Linux.
- Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Windows servers and workstations.
- Installation, administration, maintenance, and performance tuning of the corporate network infrastructure.
- Provide System Administration assistance to clients and internal departments.
- Work directly with clients to plan and implement Landacorp and Oracle technologies at client sites.
- Develops tools, documentation, and procedures that sustain and improve the technical services provided to clients.
- Maintain and test disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Evaluate new operating system technologies, related tools, and utilities.
- Support development department projects and assist in stress and load testing analysis, environment set-up, and testing scripts.
- Unix shell scripting.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalency in experience.
- 5+ years experience as a UNIX administrator performing installs, patches, troubleshooting performance problems, and handling user security issues.
- 3+ years experience as a Windows administrator performing installs, patches, troubleshooting performance problems, and handling user security issues.
- 2-3 years experience with shell scripting.
- Experience with TCL scripting preferred.
- Experience with installing and compiling applications, such as Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, and Oracle, in a UNIX environment is desirable.
- Oracle database administration experience preferred.
