Overview
As a software developer for our Landacorp medical management software division, you will work on a team that is responsible for developing enterprise level commercial software products used in the healthcare industry. You will leverage your Java and web service experience as you design, develop, document and test our next generation software products, while ensuring that our current product offerings are technically and commercially viable throughout their product lifecycles.
Job Skills/Requirements:
Duties include:
- Design, develop, test and maintain elements of the presentation-tier of a n-tier application, using various tools and technologies, including Java, J2EE, JSPs, JMS, JDBC, etc., that operate correctly in heterogeneous client-side environments.
- Write, edit and revise detailed technical design documents, including UML models, to accurately describe the technical details of the components to be developed.
- Be able to explain and document major application design decisions and their rationales to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a development team with minimal supervision.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
Experience includes:
- 2+ years experience in a production software development environment
- Extensive Java programming experience
- Mastery of object-oriented analysis & design concepts and techniques (e.g., interfaces, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism)
- Software design experience, including use of UML modeling and UI design tools
- Oracle RDBMS, with strong SQL skills
- Experience preferred: Messaging (JMS / MQSeries) technologies, MS .NET (C#, VB) programming, Oracle PL/SQL and/or Java Stored Procedures, ANT scripting
- Ability to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast paced development environment
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- A demonstrable attention to detail
