Chico, California (September 29, 2011) – Landacorp, a Carewise Health affiliate, will host their annual Healthcare Symposium in New Orleans, November 2-4, at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This year's symposium will focus on how health plans and healthcare providers can collaborate to improve health and reduce costs.
Attendees will come together with industry leaders to engage in thought leadership and informative sessions on how to achieve collaborative care and win in the marketplace. The symposium will examine the challenges facing health plans and providers, as well as medical management trends, the changing healthcare system and other top-of-mind healthcare issues.
"Future market factors, such as shifting risk and evolving responsibilities for health outcomes are creating an opportunity that demands more collaboration,” said Jay Dunlap, general manager, Landacorp. "This symposium aims to facilitate a deeper conversation regarding the ways in which health plans and providers can work together to improve health outcomes for members, while reducing costs for all stakeholders in the post-reform market.”
The keynote address, Finding the Best Practices in Collaborative Care, presented by Dr. Ray Fabius, chief medical officer, Thomson Reuters, will examine the value of enhanced collaboration between health plans and providers.
Other symposium speakers include: Rishabh Mehrotra, CEO, SHPS, Inc.; Jim Dolstad, chief actuary, vice president of reporting and actuarial services, Carewise Health; Andrew Ziskind, partner, senior executive, Accenture; Pat Orchard, director of clinical operations, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey; and Jay Dunlap, general manager, Landacorp.
Symposium attendees will also be invited to a special event at Bayona, an international restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter, where celebrity chef, Susan Spicer, will provide a cooking demonstration and share her culinary secrets and favorite recipes.
